Informatic ministry conducts training of “UMKM” entrepreneurs of Cirebon

Cirebon (ANTARA News) – The Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kemenkominfo) conducts training and facilitates and simulates online sales for Cirebon Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs/UMKM) entrepreneurs in West Java.

“It is expected that UMKM players can be increasingly stimulated to maximize e-commerce to develop their businesses,” said Director of Information and Economic & Maritime Communication, Directorate General of Information and Public Communication, Septriana Tangkary in Cirebon, Saturday.

He said his side cooperated with the Cirebon City Office of Communication, Information and Statistics, Information and Communication Technology Volunteers and Shopee marketplace to educate SMEs related to the use of e-commerce.

According to Septriana, Indonesia has enormous potential to become the largest digital economy country in Asia.

Considering that currently there are more than 132 million penetration of internet users, e-commerce users continue to increase with the increase in e-commerce portals that meet the various needs of todays society.

Online transactions through e-commerce portals said Septriana, are increasingly popular in the wider community and can be seen as a positive development.

“Because its easier to connect sellers and buyers now. This is important to say to MSMEs to better understand the enormous market potential, “he said.

“The initial steps have been explored, but education on the use of e-commerce portals is important to continue to do,” he continued.

She further explained that through the education program, she also wanted to socialize the Come on UMKM Online Selling movement.

Currently she said, from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) data, the contribution of MSMEs to Indonesias Gross Domestic Product (GDP) reached 61.41 percent with the number of MSMEs reaching almost 60 million units.

“However, only around 8 percent or as many as 3.79 million MSME players have taken advantage of online platforms to market their products, even though the consumer movement trend is increasingly burdensome in online transactions,” he said.

Participants of 212 alumni reunion throng Monas

Jakarta (ANTARA News) – Participants of the 212 alumni reunion rally who came from Jakarta and its satellite towns thronged the rally places at Monas (National Monument) square on Sunday morning.

Clad in white clothes, the rally participants came to Monas by public transportation and KRL commuter trains.

On a number of thoroughfares, some participants who were going to take part in the 212 rally came using motorcycles. They flew flags with tawheed letters.

“I used a motorbike because my house is far from train station,” Hanin (27) said. She who is a resident of Ciputat of Banten came to the reunion location together with her husband and two children. A white flag with tawheed letters was attached on her motorbike.

There were many participants went to Monas areas on foot. The participants mixed with other city residents who were jogging on Jalan MH Thamrin on the occasion of the routine Car Free Day.

The Chairman of the 212 Alumni Reunion Media Center, Novel Bamukmin, said the rally had no political purpose. It is basically a religious tourism and effort to uphold tawheed (faith in one God).

“There is no political element. We do not allow other flags to fly, besides Merah Putih and the Tawheed flag. We do not allow party flags,” said Novel.

The 212 rally alumni was established to gather people who were involved in the rally on Dec 2, 2016 to call for the prosecution of then-Jakarta governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok for blasphemy.

Sukabumi airport construction to begin in 2019

Sukabumi, W Java (ANTARA News) – Sukabumi Airport in West Java will be built in early 2019, a local official said here on Sunday.

“After officially opening the Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi (Bocimi) session I Toll Road, Ciawi-Cigombong on Saturday (Dec 1), President Joko Widodo stated that the construction of Sukabumi Airport will be carried out in 2019, and this is good news for all people in Sukabumi District,” vice head of administration of Sukabumi, Adjo Sardjono, said.

According to Adjo, the construction of the airport will support the development in Sukabumi District in the transportation sector, especially now that the district administration is intensifying the promotion of Ciletuh Palabuhanratu Geopark tourist attraction.

The airport is expected to help increase the number of domestic and foreign tourist visits as there will be access to reach the district.

The airport will strengthen connectivity in Sukabumi District with other areas, Adjo said.

“People in Sukabumi should be ready to welcome this development because the impact is very positive and of course it should be used as maximum as possible to improve the local economy and peoples welfare,” he added.

Earlier, Acting Head of Cimanggu Village, Cikembar Sub district, Haris, said the Transportation Office of West Java had put some stakes in the land that would be used as the construction site of Sukabumi Airport.

The stakes are believed to mark the area for physical development, such as runways and other facilities.

“The stakes show that it is very likely that construction will begin soon,” Haris said.
