The Ministry of Commerce has organized the private sector to organize the event ‘Commerce organizes a discount, Vegetarian Festival, full of merit at a low price’ during the Vegetarian Festival from 3 – 11 October 2024, for 9 days nationwide, expected to reduce the cost of living by 750 million baht and stimulate the economy overall by 2,250 million baht.

Mr. Pichai Naripthaphan, Minister of Commerce, revealed after chairing the opening ceremony of the ‘Commerce Ministry organizes a discount, Vegetarian Festival, full of merit, cheap price’ event on September 30, 2024 at Ying Charoen Market, Bang Khen District, Bangkok that ‘The Ministry of Commerce has collaborated with various partners, including department stores nationwide, local department stores, central markets, and various fresh markets, to organize this project from October 3-11, 2024, by bringing products related to the Vegetarian Festival to sell to the public to help reduce expenses for the public and allow them to participate in the merit-makin
g festival at a price that is not too expensive.

‘The Ministry of Commerce recognizes the importance of the Vegetarian Festival and would like to assure our citizens that all vegetarian products and ingredients are sufficient, ‘no shortage’ and ‘no price increase’. Therefore, we have collaborated with the private sector to organize the ‘Commerce Ministry organizes a Vegetarian Festival discount’ activity, which is part of the economic recovery project. The Department of Internal Trade has joined forces with 422 partner networks, including manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers, local department stores, fresh markets and central markets nationwide, as well as E-Commerce Platforms, to organize promotions with discounts of up to 65% on products, discounts on ready-to-eat food, alternative menus at a budget price of 30-40 baht, mobile Blue Flag discounts of up to 60%, and opening vegetable sales points to provide alternatives in 20 provinces for 5 types of vegetables (kale, cabbage, Chinese cabbage, yardlong b
eans, cucumber),’ said Mr. Pichai.
