The Department of Mineral Resources (DMR) has warned 16 provinces to watch out for landslides and flash floods between 13-15 September.
The Department of Mineral Resources, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, has warned risk areas in 16 provinces to watch out for landslides and flash floods, including Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Loei, Nong Khai, Sisaket, Ubon Ratchathani, Chanthaburi, Trat, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang, and Satun.
In this regard, the landslide and flash flood monitoring network is requested to closely monitor the situation between 13-15 September 2024. The Department of Mineral Resources’ Geological Disaster Operations Center provides the following recommendations:
Monitor weather and rainfall data, especially in areas with heavy rainfall of more than 100 mm/24 hours.
Low-lying areas that are prone to flooding should move belongings, animals, and other items to higher ground or a safe place.
Look for signs such as the color of the water being murky, debri
s floating in the water, etc.
Avoid crossing waterways, walking across waterways, or going into water to catch fish or other aquatic animals.
There should be a 24-hour guard patrol.
There are warnings from upstream, midstream and downstream.
Have a flashlight or other lighting equipment ready.
Always be alert and ready to go to a safe place.
