FDA cheers consumers ‘Protect rights’ to complain about illegal health products

March 15 every year is International Consumer Rights Day. The FDA encourages consumers to be aware of their basic rights to protect themselves from falling prey to poor-quality health products and deceptive advertising. Open channels on every platform for reporting complaints.

Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as an agency whose main mission is to protect consumers in health products. We are concerned about consumers who have been damaged by consuming health products that do not have
standard quality. or become a victim of deceptive advertising Therefore, we would like to encourage consumers to take a stand and demand their own rights. The FDA places importance on the voice of consumers. In fiscal year 2023, the FDA received 2,106 complaints about food, 1,145 about drugs, 420 about cosmetics, 189 about medical devices, 129 about herbs, 49 about hazardous substances, 31 about narcotic substances, and 38 about other things, for a total of 4,107 complaints.

The top 10 complaints were: 1. Food advertisements, 959 complaints. 2. Drug sales advertisements on websites, 946 complaints. 3. Food labels, 904 complaints. 4. Cosmetic advertisements, 207 complaints. 5. Food authorization applications, 149 complaints. 6. Drug sal
es, 145 complaints. 7. Requesting permission for cosmetics: 110 matters; 8. Advertisements for medical devices: 104 matters; 9. Advertisements for herbal products: 69 matters; Requesting permission for medical devices: 69 matters; and 10. Questions about food quality: 63 matters.

The Secretary-General of the FDA also said that the FDA will continuously monitor the sale of illegal health products and advertisements through all channels.
